A series of photographs depict objects used in Foley that are typically disconnected from the sound they represent; Breaking Bones are apples crushed on parquet flooring, a Heartbeat is a plastic drum. Although each of these has played a part in the central film they were shown with, A Sound Not Meant To Be heard their revelation makes their use no less convincing. A small lie that we like to believe, the lie that allows one thing stand in convincingly for another in our hunger for authenticity.
